Presentation coming up

Temba Bavuma: "Looking at the way we started, lot of people would've written us off. But fighting effort from the rest of the batters. Miller, of course, but we knew if our bowlers hit their straps we could defend any total. Miller has been short of runs, he will admit it, but we always knew something like this was around the corner. The replacements have been chomping for an opportunity. Beuran has been with us on a few tours. Good to see Bjorn show what he can do with the ball and Wiaan is a young guy with massive potential that we wish he can fulfil."

David Miller, the player of the match: "Nice to contribute, very chuffed. Wickets lost up fronts never help. Wiaan batted beautifully, showed what he's learnt over the couple of years. Good rebuild, and then explosion at the end. Spinners have been phenomenal. Blessed with Shamsi, Bjorn and George. It's a good problem to have since you can't necessarily play all of them. T20 World Cup is obviously the goal and we are building nicely but we are going game by game."

Andy Balbirnie: "Disappointed with the bat again. We didn't apply ourselves. Bowlers did well. Spinners bowled well, really good operators. Stirlo's two wickets were a bonus. But it was just a batting thing, we want to bounce back. Gives us an opportunity to play against a really good team. We are building towards the T20 World Cup, of course, but want to play good too."

Another batting collapse from Ireland in their chase, and that means the third game in this series is a dead rubber. Both sides were at less than 60 for 5 in their first ten overs, but Miller's 44-ball 75 and Mulder's 26-ball 36 took SA to a total that was eventually defended comfortably. Ireland will be disappointed that they let South Africa crawl back into the contest after the visitors lost four of their top five for single-digit scores. A solid day for Shamsi and Fortuin - the two spinners - as well, each taking three wickets. Ireland wll also be disappointed with Kevin O'Brien's form - who now has three consecutive ducks in internationals.

19.3W Ngidi to Little slower ball yorker, on leg. Tries to swipe it leg side, but misses, and off stump has been dismantled! South Africa win by 42 runs and they are now 2-0 up in the series OUT
JB Little b Ngidi 9 (14m 11b 1x4 0x6) SR: 81.81
19.21 Ngidi to Adair good length, outside off. Cuts in front of square to deep extra cover 1 run

Like the Rabada batting cameo in the first T20I, how important was that 24-run over that Miller hit in this game? Of course his whole innings was brilliant, but those 24 runs made this target just that much more tough

19.11 Ngidi to Little good length, outside off. Mistimes a smacked shot to long on for one 1 run
End of Over No.19 Ireland 115/9 Last Over (7 runs)
18.61 Hendricks to Little back of a length on middle and leg. Flat-batted towards the leg side. In the air but falls just short of the fielder at long on 1 run
18.50 Hendricks to Little good length on leg. Backs away and tries to cut it past backward point, but misses the connection no run
18.41 Hendricks to Adair back of a length on middle, and flat-batted over the bowler's head to long on 1 run
18.31 Hendricks to Little fullish, on middle. Attempts to slog it leg side, and mistimed to long on 1 run
18.24 Hendricks to Little good length, on middle and off. Backs away and ramps it over the vacant slip cordon! FOUR
18.10 Hendricks to Little no run

good length, outside leg stump. Looks to hammer it over the leg side, but the ball goes under the bat to the keeper

End of Over No.18 Ireland 108/9 Last Over (2 runs)
17.60 Ngidi to Adair good length, outside off stump. Tries to cut and misses once again no run
17.50 Ngidi to Adair good length, outside off. Tries to pull, and it goes past the bat to the keeper no run
17.41 Ngidi to Little full outside off, and swipes a shot to long on for one 1 run
17.30 Ngidi to Little good length, outside off stump. Tries to slap it over point but misses no run
17.20 Ngidi to Little fullish, on middle and leg. Flick attempted, but hits his pad no run
17.11 Ngidi to Adair good length, outside off, and cut to deep point 1 run

Ireland need 54 off 18.

End of Over No.17 Ireland 106/9 Last Over (10 runs)
16.61 Hendricks to Adair good length, on off. Checks a pull to deep midwicket for a single 1 run
16.54 Hendricks to Adair yorker length, but wider outside off. Adair brings the bat down, opens the face of the bat to squeeze it out to deep point for four FOUR
16.41 Hendricks to Little full on middle, and leg. Driven to deep midwicket 1 run
16.31 Hendricks to Adair good length, on middle, and pulled along the ground to deep midwicket 1 run
16.2W Hendricks to Young smart catch! Back of a length on off, and tries to pull it over square leg. But it's in the air instead, and Mulder has to keep his eye on the ball in the deep, watching out for the late swerve as the ball comes down, but holds on to it in the end OUT
CA Young c Mulder b Hendricks 0 (7m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
16.13 Hendricks to Adair full outside off. Clears the front leg and hits it over the bowler. Doesn't get 100% timing, and long on runs to his left and cuts it off. Flat throw, bowler tries to execute a run out as they try to complete the second, but he misses the stumps, and the overthrow run allows them to take three 3 runs
End of Over No.16 Ireland 96/8 Last Over (3 runs)

Brian: "Was Simi Singh stumped? Surely that's a run out? He hit it, if he hadn't De Kock couldn't have grabbed it in front of the crease. Not the bowlers wicket." -- The official decision is stumped for now. I can see your point, but there's a grey area in these rules. Usually run out is given if the batter was "seeking" a run, which wasn't the case here.

15.61 Shamsi to Adair good length, on leg. Flicked to square leg off the back foot. Shamsi finishes with 3/14 1 run
15.50 Shamsi to Adair full on middle and leg. Swept to the leg side no run
15.40 Shamsi to Adair full, on leg stump. Tries to sweep, but hits the pad again before rolling to the off side no run
15.31 Shamsi to Young full, on leg. Swept but hits the boot and rolls to the off side. LBW appeal turned down 1 leg bye
15.20 Shamsi to Young full outside off, and tries to slog sweep. Ball turning in, misses the bat. no run
15.11 Shamsi to Adair good length, rocks deep in his crease, and pulls to deep midwicket for one 1 run
End of Over No.15 Ireland 93/8 Last Over (1 run)

Venkat : "@Rakshana: Tahir hasn't retired yet from T20Is and it will be southafrica's loss not to play him in Tandem with Shamsi in the T20 worldcup."

14.60 Fortuin to Young fullish, just outside off stump. Presses forward to defend. Inside edged to short fine leg no run

Benjie: "South Africa are turning into such teasers....they tease you by starting well batting, then collapsing to a 160 score...or collapsing and recovering to a 160 score...then you think you can chase it but you dont eventually!!!"

MikeB: "Surely de Kock has taken this well in front of the stumps? Does that matter if it's been hit?" -- once the ball hits the bat or pad then the keeper can grab from in front of the stumps

14.5W Fortuin to Simi Singh full on off, and he comes down the ground to go inside out over cover! Ball slides in, takes the inside edge, hits his pad, and rolls towards the wicketkeeper. de Kock is well aware, he moves forward, collects the ball and whips the bails off. But was Singh back in as he tried to recover? No! He's short by a few inches. Fortuin's third wicket, remember he is playing the series' first game, replacing Linde OUT
Simi Singh st †de Kock b Fortuin 1 (9m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33
14.41 Fortuin to Adair good length, on off. Pulled off the back foot to deep midwicket 1 run
